The AgX Story . . .

How AgX Became a Family Project: Built by a Farmer, Two Daughters, and a Lot of Laughs!

M, Lu and CR

The Scebold Family

What started as Dad’s “summer project idea” snowballed into late-night laughs, cornfield debates, livestock love, and a healthy dose of sisterly bickering — all powered by Starbucks, sarcasm, and snacks. AgX came to life through wild ideas, big dreams, and even bigger arguments over category names (don’t get them started on cows vs. crops). Somewhere along the way, we also learned way too much about the agronomy of popcorn. đŸŒœ 🍿 😋

Like all good things in Agriculture, AgX started as a family project.

I’m CR Scebold, and AgX was born out of an idea (and maybe a little parental scheming) to pull my daughters, Lu and M, into something creative, collaborative, and a whole lot more productive than scrolling TikTok all summer.

Lu, a senior in high school this year, dove headfirst into her Adobe classes this year and discovered she’s got a knack for design, editing, and making things look downright sharp. Give her a blank screen and a deadline, and suddenly she’s a creative powerhouse destined for BIG things (mark my words). AgX became the place where she could stretch those creative muscles and turn ideas into something real — not just school projects stuck in a folder.

M, meanwhile, is in 8th grade and has made it crystal clear that animals are her thing. Horses, cows, pigs — if it walks, trots, or snorts, she’s interested. Naturally, the livestock side of AgX became her personal favorite. She may have let Lu handle the tech side, but when it came to animals? M took the reins!

Together, they spent countless nights laughing, bickering, brainstorming, and more than once debating if x/cattle sounded cooler than x/beef. (Spoiler: They both won. That’s how sisters work.)

For me, the best part wasn’t just building AgX — it was building it with them. We pulled in Grandpa, swapped ideas, shared a lot of “back when I was your age” stories, and took a much-needed break from the digital abyss to do something together. Watching them learn, lead, and create was worth every minute.

Farming runs in the Scebold DNA — eight 8 generations deep on our Iowa Heritage Farm since 1858. Whether these two girls follow that path or blaze a new one, this project gave them a deeper connection to ag, creativity, and the power of sharing knowledge.

AgX is for everyone in ag. We love the idea of community, networking, and sharing ideas and best practices — bringing growers together, helping each other improve, and making agriculture stronger for the future. After all, farmers are feeding the world
they deserve a place to share how they do it.

Thanks for visiting AgX! This project has been built with a lot of heart, late nights, laughter, and maybe just a little sisterly competition. So go ahead — give these girls a like, a share, or a shoutout. Better yet, build your account and start participating in the community today!

Because Ag is better when we learn, share, and grow together.
Welcome to AgX — we’re glad you’re here.Â đŸŒ±
